Custom Sprockets
This service is for customers who need a sprocket made that is unique to their individual requirements.
If you are working on a project with a roller chain drive system, and need a sprocket that just does not already exist, then we can help.
Q.What is a custom sprocket?
A. A custom sprocket will be a sprocket that will have one or more of the following features in it.
Offsets. Some typical applications include, custom bikes and motorcycle engined cars and buggies, where there might be chain alignment issues. The alignment can be corrected by means of adding an offset to the sprocket, this is a very popular service for us. Offsets are also used to allow chain clearance of frames and wide tyres.
Non standard numbers of teeth. Sprockets can be made with a different number of teeth than is supplied as standard, so that alterations can be made to the gearing.
Chain size conversions. This is useful if the standard sprocket available has a chain size that may not be strong enough to cope with extra power created due to performance modifications, for example, if the standard sprocket fitted to your bike has the 520 (5/8” chain pitch x 1/4” chain width)chain size and you have considerably increased the power of your bike, then you may want to opt for a wider sprocket to help cope with the extra power, in this case, you would have a sprocket made with the 530 (5/8” chain pitch x 3/8” chain width)chain size.
Split Sprockets. We can make sprockets in 2 halves to help with quicker installation on axles where normally the removal of a wheel and hub is necessary.

To be certain that we understand your custom sprocket requirement, we may need you to supply drawings with dimensions. By doing this, time and money can be saved by cutting out any possible confusion.
If sending drawings either by post or email, it would also be helpful, if they could be supported with photographs.
Please note, that when drawings are sent, we will make the sprocket to the dimensions given, so it is very important, that you measure accurately, as we can not be held responsible for a sprocket not fitting correctly due to inaccurate information supplied.
Drawings sent via email, should be sent in the following formats:
Dxf (autocad)
Pdf
Bitmap
Jpeg
Gif, Tif
The variations in sprocket design, are extremely vast, and because of this, there are some features that we can not produce ourselves at the moment due to the large variety of tooling and machinery that is required, although we are slowly building up our range of tooling as we go along. We can seek outside services to cover some of the jobs that we are unable to do, but this all comes at extra cost, and because we try to be reasonable with our prices, the added costs of using outside help can sometimes mean that the cost to make a custom sprocket is high.
